To all that may or may not have some interest in sports, or looking for a way to exercise in new ways, well Floorball is taking over. There are several teams through out the US and has officially made the Olympics. For those that don't know we have teams in San Francisco, Mountain View, Los Angeles, Fresno, San Diego, Dallas, Colorado, New York and more that I'm not mentioning cause I haven't done my homework.
Floorball started in the 70's in Sweden and Norway, you know cause they're always trying to kill each other during their Floorball matches, but support the hell out of each other when they don't. I love it!
There several tournaments through out the years in the US, and ever the years since I've been involved, teams are getting bigger, better and the sport continues to grow at an impressive rate.
Its a highly skilled sport if you ask me, but the fact is, is that its inexpensive to play, anyone can be great at it if you practice, and the percentage of getting hurt compared to other sports is low.
So to all of us Americans or non, but live here in the US, and only play football, basketball, baseball and now soccer, give Floorball a chance, if you don't like it, its probably cause its not an easy sport to just pick up, it takes lots of practice, lots of conditioning and skill. It took me a while before the sport really grew on me.
